MSU Commemorates Theatre Personality CC Mehta's Birth Anniversary

Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) in Vadodara marked the 125th birth anniversary of Gujarati theatre personality Chandravadan Chimanlal (CC) Mehta with a seminar and theatre festival. The event, titled ‘C.C. Mehta – Contribution and Re-evaluation’, was jointly organised by Sahitya Akademi, Gujarat Sahitya Akademi, and MSU’s dramatics department. Experts discussed Mehta's significant contributions to Gujarati and Indian theatre, his role in establishing university-level theatre education, and the enduring relevance of his works. The festival also featured two plays, one of which received a five-minute standing ovation.

वडोदरा की Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) ने गुजराती रंगकर्मी Chandravadan Chimanlal (CC) मेहता की 125वीं जयंती मनाई। इसके लिए एक सेमिनार और थिएटर फेस्टिवल का आयोजन किया गया। ‘C.C. Mehta – Contribution and Re-evaluation’ नाम के इस कार्यक्रम को Sahitya Akademi, Gujarat Sahitya Akademi और MSU के ड्रामा विभाग ने मिलकर आयोजित किया। विशेषज्ञों ने मेहता के गुजराती और भारतीय रंगमंच में योगदान, विश्वविद्यालय स्तर पर रंगमंच शिक्षा की स्थापना में उनकी भूमिका और उनके कार्यों की प्रासंगिकता पर चर्चा की। फेस्टिवल में दो नाटकों का मंचन भी हुआ।
