Mumbai residents have conducted their own audit of footpaths in Chandivali, challenging the BMC 'Pedestrian First' campaign claims. Two months after the BMC announced cleared footpaths, the Chandivali Citizens Welfare Association found narrow, obstructed walkways, illegal parking, and dumping. These issues persist on key pedestrian routes connecting residential areas, forcing residents to rely on private vehicles and contributing to traffic congestion. The audit highlighted significant deviations from standard road design, with kerbs much higher than prescribed.
