Jharkhand Cop Guarding Politician Dies In Accidental Firing Incident

A Jharkhand police constable, Niranjan Mahto, 37, died on duty from a gunshot injury in Hazaribag on Thursday morning. Mahto was serving as the official bodyguard for JMM’s Hazaribag district president, Sanjeev Bediya, having been deputed on October 5. While cleaning his AK-47 rifle, it is suspected that the weapon accidentally discharged multiple rounds, causing fatal injuries. An investigation is underway, with preliminary findings suggesting accidental firing, though suicide is also being examined.

झारखंड के हजारीबाग में गुरुवार सुबह ड्यूटी पर तैनात 37 वर्षीय पुलिस कांस्टेबल निरंजन महतो की गोली लगने से मौत हो गई। महतो 5 अक्टूबर से झामुमो के हजारीबाग जिला अध्यक्ष संजीव बेदिया के आधिकारिक अंगरक्षक के तौर पर तैनात थे। शक है कि AK-47 राइफल की सफाई के दौरान हथियार से अचानक कई गोलियां चल गईं, जिससे वे गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गए। जांच चल रही है, शुरुआती जांच में दुर्घटना का मामला लग रहा है, लेकिन आत्महत्या की भी जांच की जा रही है।
