Giant 1940s Shoe House Now Quirky Rental

A 25-foot-tall building shaped like a work boot, originally built in the 1940s as an advertising idea, is now a unique short-term rental. The Haines Shoe House, located in Hellam Township, Pennsylvania, was constructed by shoe entrepreneur Mahlon Haines and opened to guests in 1949. After falling into disrepair, it was restored and recently converted into a rental property. Visitors can now sleep inside the historic, shoe-themed structure, which features rooms arranged.
