CET has commenced an inspection of flats built for fishermen near Vizhinjam harbour. This action follows numerous complaints from residents reporting deteriorating structural conditions, including falling plaster and ceiling debris, within just seven years of the buildings being handed over. Mayor V V Rajesh has expressed concerns about potential construction irregularities and has called for a thorough technical examination to identify the extent of the defects and any construction lapses. The inspection aims to establish the cause of the rapid deterioration and ensure resident safety.
