China's Yuan Hits Four-Year High On Strong GDP Data

China's yuan strengthened to its highest level in over four years against the US dollar, driven by stronger-than-expected third-quarter GDP growth of 4.5% and improved retail sales. These positive economic indicators eased concerns about the need for aggressive stimulus measures from Beijing. The onshore yuan reached its strongest point since July 2022, while the offshore yuan also gained ground. Analysts suggest the economic recovery is gaining traction, though interest rate differentials with the US may limit further appreciation.

चीन का युआन अमेरिकी डॉलर के मुकाबले चार साल से अधिक के उच्चतम स्तर पर पहुँच गया है। इसकी वजह तीसरी तिमाही में 4.5% की उम्मीद से बेहतर GDP वृद्धि और खुदरा बिक्री में सुधार है। इन सकारात्मक आर्थिक संकेतकों से बीजिंग से आक्रामक प्रोत्साहन उपायों की आवश्यकता को लेकर चिंताएं कम हुई हैं। ऑनशोर युआन जुलाई 2022 के बाद अपने सबसे मजबूत स्तर पर पहुँच गया, जबकि ऑफशोर युआन में भी मजबूती आई है। विश्लेषकों का सुझाव है कि आर्थिक सुधार गति पकड़ रहा है, हालांकि अमेरिका के साथ ब्याज दर के अंतर से आगे की मजबूती सीमित हो सकती है।
