British tech entrepreneur Mike Conner purchased Thorne Island, a derelict 19th-century fort in Wales, in 2017 for approximately £500,000. He invested around £2 million in an extensive restoration, transforming the property into a unique, off-grid island home. The restored fort now boasts over 8,000 square feet, five bedrooms, and independent utilities like solar panels and heat pumps. Conner has now listed the unique property for sale for £3 million.
