OPCC has demanded the creation of a Special Development Board for the Kotia group of villages in Koraput district. This call follows Andhra Pradesh's announcement to hold local polls in the region, intensifying the decades-old border dispute. OPCC President Bhakta Charan Das stated that the board is crucial for expediting welfare programs and reinforcing administrative presence. He also accused both ruling parties of neglecting the area, which is rich in mineral resources and where residents hold identity documents from both states.
