Taiwan Says China Using Militia Boats For Battlefield Preparation

The Hindu - International · world

Taiwan's Coast Guard has stated that China is employing militia vessels alongside its Coast Guard ships to expand "battlefield preparation" in the western Pacific. These operations, which have increased since June, involve vessels coming as close as 2.7 nautical miles outside Taiwan's restricted waters. The coordinated actions are also exerting pressure on Japan and the Philippines. Taiwan warns that these complex "grey-zone" operations increase surveillance burdens and could disrupt the international maritime order.
