मिर्ज़ापुर के डायरेक्टर गुरमीत सिंह ने फिल्म की सफलता को स्वीकार किया और कहा कि दर्शकों के ज़बरदस्त सपोर्ट से ही यह फिल्म OTT से बड़े पर्दे पर आई। उन्होंने रासिका दुग्गल के किरदार को लेकर ऑनलाइन हुई आलोचना पर कहा कि यह समाज की पितृसत्ता की वजह से है, जिसे बदलने में समय लगता है। सिंह ने 'शूरवीर' गाने के इस्तेमाल को लेकर हुए विवाद पर भी बात की और कहा कि इसका मकसद सिर्फ़ मनोरंजन था और वे इस हंगामे से हैरान थे। विक्रांत मैसी की अनुपस्थिति के बारे में उन्होंने कहा कि एक्टर्स को अपने करियर के रास्ते चुनने की क्रिएटिव आज़ादी होती है।
