Greenville Chemical Plant Explosion Contained; Shelter-in-Place Order Lifted

An explosion occurred at the Loveland Products chemical plant in Greenville, Mississippi, on Wednesday, sending a large plume of black smoke into the air. Emergency crews responded quickly and successfully contained the fire. Officials subsequently lifted the shelter-in-place order that had been issued for residents. No injuries were immediately reported following the incident, which involved a fire linked to herbicide chemicals. The parent company, Nutrien, confirmed the situation was being managed in coordination with first responders.
