Farmer Leader Arrested in Mahadayi Protest Case

Farmer leader Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, state president of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene, has been remanded to 12 days of judicial custody. The arrest is in connection with a case registered over the agitation for Mahadayi River water. Chandrashekhar had previously led farmers in rail blockades in 2013 and 2019 as part of the Mahadayi water demand. He was arrested in Sirsi while heading to a farmers' protest and produced before the 1st JMFC court in Hubballi. His bail petition was dismissed by the court.

महादयी जल विवाद: किसान नेता को हिरासत में लिया गया

महादयी नदी जल विवाद मामले में किसान नेता कोडिहल्ली चंद्रशेखर को 12 दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया गया है। वे कर्नाटक राज्य रैयथा संघ और हसीरू सेने के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष हैं। यह गिरफ्तारी महादयी नदी जल के लिए चल रहे आंदोलन से जुड़े एक मामले में हुई है। चंद्रशेखर ने 2013 और 2019 में भी महादयी जल की मांग को लेकर किसानों के साथ रेल रोको आंदोलन का नेतृत्व किया था। उन्हें सिरसी में एक किसान विरोध प्रदर्शन में जाते समय गिरफ्तार किया गया था और हुबली की 1ST JMFC अदालत में पेश किया गया था। अदालत ने उनकी जमानत याचिका खारिज कर दी है।
