Supreme Court: No complete cracker ban, balancing faith and health

The Supreme Court has stated that there will be no complete ban on firecrackers across India. The court aims to find a balance between religious sentiments and health and environmental concerns. Justice MM Sundresh noted that a complete ban would hurt religious sentiments, but allowing crackers for 24 hours is also not feasible due to health impacts on vulnerable groups. The court will decide on time limits and permissible types of crackers, with the next hearing.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा है कि पूरे भारत में पटाखों पर पूरी तरह से रोक नहीं लगेगी। कोर्ट का लक्ष्य धार्मिक भावनाओं और स्वास्थ्य व पर्यावरण संबंधी चिंताओं के बीच संतुलन खोजना है। जस्टिस एमएम. सुंदरेश ने कहा कि पूरी तरह से रोक लगाने से धार्मिक भावनाएं आहत होंगी, लेकिन 24 घंटे पटाखों की अनुमति देना भी कमजोर समूहों के स्वास्थ्य पर पड़ने वाले प्रभावों के कारण संभव नहीं है। कोर्ट अगली सुनवाई में समय सीमा और स्वीकार्य पटाखों के प्रकार तय करेगा।
