AAP Slams Delhi Police Over 'Brutal' Crackdown on Anti-CEC Protest

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh accused Delhi Police of using excessive force against protesters, including women, lawyers, and journalists, during demonstrations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Singh alleged that authorities restricted the right to protest by shutting metro stations, imposing internet restrictions, and deploying heavy police forces, leading to the detention of over 6,000 people. He further claimed police entered a gurdwara to detain individuals seeking shelter, calling the action disrespectful.

आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के सांसद संजय सिंह ने मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शनों के दौरान महिलाओं, वकीलों और पत्रकारों सहित प्रदर्शनकारियों पर दिल्ली पुलिस द्वारा अत्यधिक बल प्रयोग करने का आरोप लगाया। सिंह ने आरोप लगाया कि अधिकारियों ने मेट्रो स्टेशनों को बंद करके, इंटरनेट प्रतिबंध लगाकर और भारी पुलिस बल तैनात करके विरोध करने के अधिकार को प्रतिबंधित कर दिया, जिससे 6,000 से अधिक लोग हिरासत में लिए गए। उन्होंने आगे दावा किया कि पुलिस ने शरण लेने वाले व्यक्तियों को हिरासत में लेने के लिए एक गुरुद्वारे में प्रवेश किया, इस कार्रवाई को अपमानजनक बताया।
