Kochi Water Metro Drops Six Unviable Stations; Nettoor Becomes Major Hub

Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) has decided to drop six proposed Water Metro terminals due to operational, navigational, and administrative issues. These include Aster, Amrita, Kothad, Thevara, Cheriyamthuruth, and Mulavukad. The Nettoor terminal will now be developed as a major strategic hub, connecting several areas and serving as a feeder node to the Kakkanad IT hub. The total number of terminals has been reduced from 38 to 33. The state government approved this revised plan with conditions, including no additional financial burden on the exchequer.
