Jammu & Kashmir Notifies EV Policy, Targets 1.4 Lakh Electric Vehicles by 2032

The Jammu and Kashmir government has officially notified its Electric Vehicle Policy-2026, aiming to promote clean mobility over the next six years. The policy, covering 2026 to 2032, sets a target of 1.4 lakh electric vehicles by 2032. It includes incentives like interest subvention on loans and scrappage benefits, with a ₹50 crore annual budget for replacing old vehicles. The policy also focuses on developing charging infrastructure, with plans for 900 public charging sites, and includes a winter validation protocol for EVs operating in cold conditions.
