China Expects Strongest Super El Nino Event

China's National Climate Centre expects the strongest super El Nino event on record to develop this year. Meteorologists stated that El Nino conditions began in May, with sea surface temperature indices rising rapidly. The index is projected to peak between November, potentially reaching 3.2 to 3.5 degrees Celsius. This phenomenon, which occurs every two to seven years, disrupts global rainfall patterns and influences conditions worldwide, including in China, through autumn, winter, and into next spring and summer.
