Santacruz police in Mumbai have registered a case against the manager of Food Square and its labelling department staff for allegedly selling non-vegetarian chocolate marked with a vegetarian symbol. A lawyer purchased the chocolate on October 4, and her husband discovered the discrepancy on October 8. The product was reportedly sold as vegetarian, misleading the customer about its ingredients. The FIR has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, citing the mislabelling of food products.

मुंबई की सांताक्रूज़ पुलिस ने फ़ूड स्क्वायर के मैनेजर और उसके लेबलिंग डिपार्टमेंट के स्टाफ के खिलाफ नॉन-वेज चॉकलेट को वेज सिंबल के साथ बेचने का केस दर्ज किया है। एक वकील ने 4 अक्टूबर को चॉकलेट खरीदी थी, और उनके पति ने 8 अक्टूबर को गड़बड़ी पकड़ी। प्रोडक्ट को कथित तौर पर वेज बताकर बेचा गया था, जिससे ग्राहक को सामग्री के बारे में गुमराह किया गया। फ़ूड प्रोडक्ट्स की गलत लेबलिंग के तहत भारतीय न्याय संहिता और फ़ूड सेफ्टी एंड स्टैंडर्ड्स एक्ट, 2006 के तहत FIR दर्ज की गई है।
