Coimbatore Police QR Initiative Gets 145 Complaints

Coimbatore district police's 'Nizhal' QR code initiative, launched in July, has received 145 public complaints. This has led to seven FIRs and three CSRs being registered. The system allows citizens to report crimes and suspicious activities anonymously by scanning QR codes placed in public areas. Senior officers noted its effectiveness in gathering information, particularly on contraband substances, aiding in seizures like illegal lottery tickets.

कोयंबटूर जिले की पुलिस का 'निझल' QR कोड सिस्टम जुलाई में शुरू हुआ था। अब तक इससे 145 शिकायतें आई हैं। इसके चलते 7 FIR और 3 CSR दर्ज किए गए हैं। लोग इन QR कोड को स्कैन करके गुमनाम तरीके से अपराधों और संदिग्ध गतिविधियों की रिपोर्ट कर सकते हैं। पुलिस का कहना है कि इससे जानकारी जुटाने में काफी मदद मिली है, खासकर अवैध सामानों के बारे में।
