Sebi Extends KYC Update Timeline For Foreign Investors To Eight Years

Markets regulator Sebi has relaxed the compliance process for foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) registered in India by extending the periodicity of Know Your Client (KYC) review. The current annual or triennial review will now be extended to two years and eight years, respectively. However, the periodicity for some special category FPIs, Swagat-FIs, will remain unchanged at 10 years. Existing relaxations for GS-FPIs will also continue. This move aims to simplify compliance for foreign investors operating in the Indian market.

बाजार नियामक सेबी ने भारत में पंजीकृत विदेशी पोर्टफोलियो निवेशकों (FPIs) के लिए 'अपने ग्राहक को जानें' (KYC) समीक्षा की अवधि को बढ़ाकर अनुपालन प्रक्रिया को आसान बना दिया है। वर्तमान वार्षिक या त्रि-वार्षिक समीक्षा को अब क्रमशः दो साल और आठ साल तक बढ़ाया जाएगा। हालांकि, कुछ विशेष श्रेणी के FPIs, स्वागत-FIs के लिए अवधि 10 साल पर अपरिवर्तित रहेगी। GS-FPIs के लिए मौजूदा छूट भी जारी रहेगी। इस कदम का उद्देश्य भारतीय बाजार में काम करने वाले विदेशी निवेशकों के लिए अनुपालन को सरल बनाना है।
