Aadhaar Verification Goes Paperless As UIDAI Onboards 300 Entities
Times of India · technology
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has onboarded 300 organisations onto its offline verification system since January, enabling paperless Aadhaar checks for everyday services. This expansion includes sectors like hospitality, healthcare, and the gig economy, aiming to replace physical document submission with digital verification. Residents can now share identity details via the Aadhaar App with consent, without their Aadhaar number being transferred. This initiative aligns with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, enhancing data privacy and accessibility of Aadhaar services through smartphones.
