एक नई रिपोर्ट से पता चला है कि 'डिजिटल अरेस्ट' स्कैम ने जनवरी से अगस्त 2026 के बीच भारतीयों से ₹647 करोड़ से ज़्यादा की ठगी की है। इस धोखाधड़ी में स्कैमर कानून प्रवर्तन अधिकारियों का भेष बदलकर पीड़ितों को गिरफ्तारी की धमकी देकर पैसे ऐंठते हैं। इस अवधि के दौरान डिजिटल अरेस्ट से संबंधित 21,900 से ज़्यादा शिकायतें दर्ज की गईं, जिसमें रोज़ाना औसतन लगभग 90 शिकायतें और ₹2.66 करोड़ की धोखाधड़ी हुई। यह चिंताजनक प्रवृत्ति नागरिकों की बचत को निशाना बनाने वाले साइबर अपराधों की बढ़ती जटिलता को उजागर करती है।
