Karimadom Colony Housing Project Gets Approval; Construction To Begin Soon

The district-level planning committee has approved the long-pending rehabilitation project for 128 families in Thiruvananthapuram's Karimadom Colony. Construction is set to begin soon after the city corporation releases 20% of the project cost to the construction agency, Costford. The project, launched in 2008, faced significant delays since 2023, leaving families in difficult living conditions. The estimated cost is approximately Rs 22.05 crore, with completion expected within one year. Concerns about accessibility due to the lack of a lift are being considered.

जिला स्तरीय योजना समिति ने तिरुवनंतपुरम की करीमाडोम कॉलोनी में 128 परिवारों के बहुप्रतीक्षित पुनर्वास परियोजना को मंजूरी दे दी है। शहर निगम द्वारा निर्माण एजेंसी कॉस्टफोर्ड को परियोजना लागत का 20% जारी करने के बाद जल्द ही निर्माण शुरू होने वाला है। 2008 में शुरू की गई इस परियोजना में 2023 से काफी देरी हुई, जिससे परिवारों को कठिन परिस्थितियों में रहना पड़ा। अनुमानित लागत लगभग 22.05 करोड़ रुपये है, और एक साल के भीतर पूरा होने की उम्मीद है। लिफ्ट की कमी के कारण पहुंच संबंधी चिंताओं पर विचार किया जा रहा है।
