Seventeen-year-old Janmoni Konwar from Jorhat, Assam, has achieved a remarkable feat by winning gold in the Ashihara category at the National Karate Championship in Delhi. Her victory comes despite her family's home being washed away by severe floods on July 19, which also damaged their fishery, a key source of income. The family had previously sold two buffaloes to fund her participation. Despite living under a tarpaulin even after her win, Janmoni's dedication, honed through years of practice in limited facilities, led her to national glory.
