New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner attributed their heartbreaking 4-wicket loss to India in Christchurch to crucial fielding mistakes. Despite a strong bowling performance that saw him take four wickets, Santner highlighted dropped catches and lapses in concentration as costly. He acknowledged the Indian batsmen's resilience under pressure, particularly Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Santner emphasized that even minor errors against a strong team can lead to defeat, and his team must improve in these areas for future matches.
