Haryana Power Strike Enters Day 2, 15 Districts Face Blackout

Haryana's 40,000 power employees and engineers began a three-day strike, entering its second day with 15 districts experiencing blackouts. Over 600 feeders are down, disrupting life and causing severe water shortages. Protests erupted as angry residents blocked National Highway-19 in several locations. Power Minister Anil Vij stated the strike is unwarranted, as the decision to grant parallel licenses to a private company rests with the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission, not the government. Farmer and labour unions have expressed support for the strike.

हरियाणा के 40,000 बिजली कर्मचारियों और इंजीनियरों ने तीन दिवसीय हड़ताल शुरू कर दी है, जो आज दूसरे दिन में प्रवेश कर गई है और 15 जिलों में बिजली गुल हो गई है। 600 से ज़्यादा फीडर ठप हैं, जिससे जनजीवन अस्त-व्यस्त हो गया है और पानी की भारी किल्लत हो गई है। कई जगहों पर गुस्साए लोगों ने नेशनल हाईवे-19 को जाम कर दिया, जिससे विरोध प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गए। बिजली मंत्री अनिल विज ने कहा कि हड़ताल की कोई वजह नहीं है, क्योंकि एक निजी कंपनी को समानांतर लाइसेंस देने का फैसला Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission का है, सरकार का नहीं। किसान और मजदूर यूनियनों ने हड़ताल का समर्थन किया है।
