Shares of Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) experienced pressure, with the BSE CPSE index falling 1.3% to a 52-week low due to muted growth concerns. Thirteen CPSE stocks, including ONGC, NTPC, BEL, and IOC, reached their respective 52-week lows, dropping up to 3% in intraday trading. The CPSE index has underperformed the broader market, falling 7% in the past month compared to the BSE Sensex's 4.4% decline. Analysts anticipate a muted performance for PSU defence companies in the July-September 2026 quarter, with potential margin contraction due to cost pressures.
