Al Jazeera · world

Families in Gaza are sheltering in partially collapsed buildings due to a severe housing crisis, with little hope of relocation. Masada Abu Jarad, 60, lives under a damaged roof, facing warnings from authorities to leave. However, with widespread destruction from the ongoing conflict, finding safe and affordable alternative housing is nearly impossible. A UN, World Bank, and EU assessment found over 371,000 housing units destroyed or damaged, requiring billions for rebuilding. This precarious situation highlights the dire humanitarian conditions and the risks residents face daily.
