Dutch Agency Completes Goa Beach Erosion Study First Phase of Shoreline Nourishment Measures Done

A Dutch agency, Deltaras, engaged by the Goa government to combat beach erosion, has finished its initial exploratory phase. The agency identified eight erosion hotspots along Goa's coast, noting that while some beaches like Morjim are stable, others experience significant erosion. Deltaras concluded that large interventions are unnecessary, recommending natural solutions and considering the economic value of coastal stretches. The next phase will involve creating a model of the local system and interpreting results, with the agency charging 32 lakh for its work.
