आजम खान के वकील, जुनैद एजाज ने मोहम्मद अली जौहर यूनिवर्सिटी की 38 इमारतों के विध्वंस आदेश से संबंधित महत्वपूर्ण दस्तावेज़ों और नक्शों को जिला प्रशासन द्वारा रोके जाने का आरोप लगाया है। रामपुर विकास प्राधिकरण का दावा है कि जिला पंचायत नियमों के उल्लंघन के कारण यह आदेश जारी किया गया था। वकील ने कहा कि अनुरोधों के बावजूद, श्रम उपकर जांच का हवाला देते हुए रिकॉर्ड नहीं दिए जा रहे हैं। अदालत ने अधिकारियों को उपलब्ध दस्तावेज़ जमा करने का निर्देश दिया है, जिसमें अनुपालन के लिए एक महीने का समय दिया गया है, जबकि बचाव पक्ष ने 17 ब्लॉकों के लिए नक्शे जमा कर दिए हैं।
