Madras HC Cancels Detention of Film Leak Accused

The Madras High Court has cancelled the preventive detention order under the Goondas Act against Umasankar, an accused in the leak of Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayagan’. Umasankar’s sister, Renuka Devi, had filed a habeas corpus petition challenging the detention. The court ordered the cancellation while hearing the petition. The ruling pertains only to the preventive detention and not the underlying allegations of the film’s online leak.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने विजय की फिल्म 'जना नायकन' के लीक मामले के आरोपी उमा शंकर के खिलाफ गुंडा एक्ट के तहत निवारक हिरासत के आदेश को रद्द कर दिया है। उमा शंकर की बहन रेणुका देवी ने हिरासत को चुनौती देते हुए बंदी प्रत्यक्षीकरण याचिका दायर की थी। कोर्ट ने याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए यह आदेश दिया। यह फैसला केवल निवारक हिरासत पर लागू होता है, फिल्म के ऑनलाइन लीक के आरोपों पर नहीं।
