भारत ने 2026 एशियाई खेलों में अपना दूसरा सर्वश्रेष्ठ पदक तालिका हासिल की, जिसमें 21 स्वर्ण सहित 85 पदक जीते। जबकि एथलेटिक्स और शूटिंग में पिछले संस्करण की तुलना में कम स्वर्ण पदक आए, तीरंदाजी, कुश्ती और मुक्केबाजी में महत्वपूर्ण प्रगति देखी गई। इस सफलता ने अब 2028 लॉस एंजिल्स ओलंपिक पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर दिया है। भारत का लक्ष्य पदक के दावेदारों की पहचान करना और तीरंदाजी, हॉकी, शूटिंग, मुक्केबाजी और कुश्ती जैसे खेलों में अपनी ताकत के आधार पर वैश्विक प्रभुत्व के लिए प्रतिस्पर्धा करना है। इसे हासिल करने के लिए सरकार और खेल महासंघों के समन्वित प्रयासों की आवश्यकता है।
