Germany has expressed optimism regarding Montenegro's bid to join the European Union, with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stating the country has made "remarkable progress." Wadephul noted that Montenegro's ambition is being heard in Brussels and across European capitals. He highlighted Montenegro as a frontrunner among Western Balkan candidates, setting an example for the region. Montenegro, which has been pursuing EU membership for 22 years, aims to become the bloc's 28th member state by 2028.
