Dry Fruits Get Expensive By ₹500 Ahead Of Diwali; Almonds, Pistachios See Price Surge
TV9 Hindi · business
Prices of dry fruits, including California almonds and pistachios, have significantly increased ahead of Diwali, impacting consumer budgets. In Jammu, almonds have risen from ₹800-850 per kg to ₹1,100-1,150 per kg, while pistachios have jumped from ₹1,300 to ₹1,800-1,850 per kg, a hike of up to ₹500 per kg in just one month. Traders attribute the surge to reduced supply from the US and high demand during the festive season, with the new pistachio crop yet to arrive. This price rise adds to existing inflationary pressures on essential commodities.
