Indian Stock Markets Surge Over 1600 Points, Market Cap Tops ₹500 Trillion
Business Standard · stocks
Indian equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty 50 extended their rally for a sixth consecutive session, driven by falling crude oil prices, foreign fund inflows, and the US midterm election results. The BSE Sensex surged over 1,600 points intraday, while the Nifty 50 also saw significant gains. The market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies rose by ₹6.6 trillion to ₹501.1 trillion. Experts attribute the bullish trend to strengthening economic tailwinds and a sharp 10 per cent fall in Brent crude prices.
