Farmers Observe Fast in Villupuram Demanding Auroville Committee

Farmers' associations in Villupuram district observed a fast on Friday to press for their demands concerning Auroville. Under the banner of the Tamizhaga Vivayasayigal Pathukappu Sangam, protesters gathered in Vanur, urging the Tamil Nadu government to form a special committee to address Auroville-related issues. Key demands included retaining Annapurna Farm, continuing Auro Orchard as an organic farm, and establishing hostel facilities for students. They also called for the effective functioning of the Auroville Heritage Centre.

विल्लुपुरम जिले के किसान संगठनों ने ऑरोविल से जुड़े मुद्दों को लेकर शुक्रवार को उपवास रखा। तमिलनाडु सरकार से ऑरोविल से जुड़े मामलों को सुलझाने के लिए एक विशेष समिति बनाने की मांग करते हुए, प्रदर्शनकारी वन्नूर में एकत्र हुए। उनकी मुख्य मांगों में अन्नपूर्णा फार्म को बनाए रखना, ऑरो फार्म को जैविक खेती के तौर पर जारी रखना और छात्रों के लिए हॉस्टल की सुविधा स्थापित करना शामिल था। उन्होंने ऑरोविल हेरिटेज सेंटर के प्रभावी कामकाज की भी मांग की।
