BJP Slams Plan to Hand Over Bharathiar University Land for Industries

The BJP's Coimbatore district unit has strongly condemned reports of Bharathiar University management approving the transfer of 196.22 acres of its land to TIDCO for industrial use. BJP leader J Ramesh Kumar stated that land acquired for the university should exclusively serve educational and research purposes. He highlighted that the Tamil Nadu government is resolving compensation issues for original landowners, making the diversion for industries contrary to the original objective. Kumar demanded the withdrawal of any government order facilitating this transfer and warned of legal action if the government proceeds.

बीजेपी की कोयंबटूर जिला इकाई ने भरतियार विश्वविद्यालय प्रबंधन द्वारा अपने 196.22 एकड़ जमीन को TIDCO को औद्योगिक उपयोग के लिए हस्तांतरित करने की मंजूरी देने की खबरों की कड़ी निंदा की है। बीजेपी नेता जे रमेश कुमार ने कहा कि विश्वविद्यालय के लिए अधिग्रहित भूमि का उपयोग विशेष रूप से शिक्षा और अनुसंधान उद्देश्यों के लिए किया जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने बताया कि तमिलनाडु सरकार मूल भूस्वामियों के लिए मुआवजे के मुद्दों को हल कर रही है, जिससे उद्योगों के लिए भूमि का विचलन मूल उद्देश्य के विपरीत है।
