Lebanon PM Demands Israeli Withdrawal at UN

Lebanon's Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has called for an end to the Israeli occupation of southern Lebanon and the full enforcement of a ceasefire at the United Nations General Assembly. He demanded a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and the release of all detainees. Despite a US-brokered agreement for gradual withdrawal, Israeli forces continue shelling and demolitions in over 60 occupied towns. The conflict, which began in March, has resulted in thousands of casualties and significant territorial occupation.
