Times of India · interesting

A 25-year-old court clerk, Sumit Kumar, and a 15-year-old accomplice were apprehended for attempting to extort a liquor contractor. The caller, posing as a Punjab gangster, raised suspicion by speaking in Haryanvi instead of Punjabi. The contractor reported the call, prompting police to trace the duo using technical inputs. The clerk allegedly got the idea from a Haryanvi song and used a Tehran-based app to obtain a virtual number for the extortion attempt. Police are investigating the app's usage and the song's lyrics.
