A historic Detroit mansion, once owned by Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr., has been sold for $1.65 million. The 10,500-square-foot residence, built in 1916-17, was purchased by attorney Cynthia F. Reaves in 2002 for $250,000. Reaves undertook a significant restoration of the property before its recent sale. The mansion, originally built for lumberman Nels Michelson, later became a hub for Motown artists and parties during Gordy's ownership in the late 1960s.
