Cockroach Effigy to be Burnt Alongside Ravana on Dussehra

A 30-foot-tall cockroach effigy will be burnt alongside traditional effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakarna, and Meghnad during Dussehra celebrations in Delhi's Pitampura. The Shri Keshav Ramlila Committee stated the initiative aims to spread awareness about cleanliness and unhygienic conditions, symbolizing filth and reinforcing the message of good over evil. BJP MLA Ashok Goel Devaraha denied political motives, aligning the effort with Swachh Bharat campaigns. This comes amid the rise of the satirical Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), inspired by a Supreme Court remark comparing certain individuals to cockroaches.

दिल्ली के पीतमपुरा में दशहरे के जश्न के दौरान, रावण, कुंभकर्ण और मेघनाद के पारंपरिक पुतलों के साथ 30 फुट ऊंचे कॉकरोच के पुतले को भी जलाया जाएगा। श्री केशव रामलीला समिति ने बताया कि इस पहल का उद्देश्य स्वच्छता और अस्वास्थ्यकर परिस्थितियों के बारे में जागरूकता फैलाना है, जो गंदगी का प्रतीक है और बुराई पर अच्छाई के संदेश को मजबूत करता है। बीजेपी विधायक अशोक गोयल देवराहा ने राजनीतिक मंशा से इनकार किया और इस प्रयास को स्वच्छ भारत अभियानों के साथ जोड़ा। यह व्यंग्यात्मक कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी (CJP) के उदय के बीच आया है, जो सुप्रीम कोर्ट की एक टिप्पणी से प्रेरित है जिसमें कुछ व्यक्तियों की तुलना कॉकरोच से की गई थी।
