Delhi HC Seeks Police Response On Youth Congress Protest Plea

The Delhi High Court has asked the Delhi Police to respond to a plea filed by the Indian Youth Congress (IYC). The IYC is seeking permission to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar against the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). The police had previously rejected the IYC's request for a demonstration involving 100-150 people. The IYC argues that the rejection was mechanical and violates their fundamental rights to equality and peaceful assembly. The court has scheduled further instructions to be sought by Tuesday.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने दिल्ली पुलिस से इंडियन यूथ कांग्रेस (IYC) की एक याचिका पर जवाब मांगा है। IYC मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (CEC) के खिलाफ जंतर मंतर पर विरोध प्रदर्शन की अनुमति मांग रही है। पुलिस ने पहले 100-150 लोगों के विरोध प्रदर्शन के IYC के अनुरोध को अस्वीकार कर दिया था। IYC का तर्क है कि यह अस्वीकृति यांत्रिक थी और समानता और शांतिपूर्ण सभा के उनके मौलिक अधिकारों का उल्लंघन करती है। अदालत ने मंगलवार तक आगे के निर्देशों को मांगा है।
