The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are "far from over," despite some encouraging signs. WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus reported that weekly cases have doubled to over 200 in North Kivu province, complicating containment efforts across the vast region. While transmission is declining in Ituri province, the epidemic continues to grow and cause deaths.
