₹1.72 Crore Gold Found Hidden Beneath Passenger's Kneecap At Lucknow Station

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended a passenger at Lucknow railway station for smuggling foreign-origin gold valued at ₹1.72 crore. Approximately 1.202 kg of gold was discovered concealed in a specially made pocket beneath the passenger's kneecap. The individual was traveling on the Vande Bharat Express from Howrah and could not provide documentation for the gold. This seizure is part of ongoing anti-smuggling operations in Uttar Pradesh, which have led to the confiscation of 14.47 kg of gold worth ₹21 crore this year.

राजस्व खुफिया निदेशालय (DRI) ने लखनऊ रेलवे स्टेशन पर एक यात्री को विदेशी मूल के ₹1.72 करोड़ के सोने की तस्करी के आरोप में पकड़ा है। यात्री के घुटने के नीचे बने खास पॉकेट में करीब 1.202 किलोग्राम सोना छिपा हुआ मिला। यह व्यक्ति हावड़ा से वंदे भारत एक्सप्रेस में सफर कर रहा था और सोने के लिए कोई कागजात नहीं दिखा सका। यह बरामदगी उत्तर प्रदेश में चल रहे तस्करी विरोधी अभियानों का हिस्सा है, जिसके तहत इस साल ₹21 करोड़ का 14.47 किलोग्राम सोना जब्त किया गया है।
