Nvidia is reportedly in discussions to either increase its investment in or acquire the open-source AI startup Reflection AI, according to the Financial Times. These early-stage talks could lead to various outcomes, including an acqui-hire arrangement to secure talent and technology without a full acquisition. Nvidia has already invested $800 million in Reflection AI, which was founded in 2024 by former DeepMind researchers and develops tools for automating software development. The startup recently launched its Beam model to compete in coding tasks.
