Piyush Goyal Slams Europe Over Climate Finance Pledges

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has strongly criticized Europe's climate policies, particularly the CBAM. Speaking at the Berlin Global Dialogue, he questioned the EU's failure to deliver on its 2015 promise of $100 billion annually for climate financing to developing nations. Goyal highlighted that India, representing 17% of the global population, contributes less than 3% to carbon emissions, while Europe's contribution is disproportionately higher. He argued that imposing carbon taxes and deforestation regulations is unfair and self-defeating for the EU.
