Allahabad HC Bars 300 Advocates From OBA Polls Over COP Issues

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has barred 300 advocates from voting in the Oudh Bar Association (OBA) elections scheduled for. The court ruled that 155 advocates whose certificates of practice mention a different voting location and 145 whose certificates are not renewed cannot vote. However, those who provide valid proof of renewal may be allowed to cast their ballots. The court also directed the UP Bar Council to develop an online system for accessing advocate COPs within six months.

इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट की लखनऊ पीठ ने अवध बार एसोसिएशन (OBA) के चुनावों में 300 वकीलों को वोट देने से रोक दिया है। कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया कि 155 वकील जिनके प्रैक्टिस सर्टिफिकेट में वोटिंग की अलग जगह का उल्लेख है और 145 जिनके सर्टिफिकेट रिन्यू नहीं हुए हैं, वे वोट नहीं डाल पाएंगे। हालांकि, जो लोग रिन्यूअल का वैध प्रमाण देंगे, उन्हें वोट डालने की अनुमति दी जा सकती है। कोर्ट ने UP बार काउंसिल को छह महीने के भीतर वकीलों के COP तक पहुँचने के लिए एक ऑनलाइन सिस्टम विकसित करने का भी निर्देश दिया है।
