775 Odisha Senior Citizens Depart for Varanasi and Ayodhya Pilgrimage

A total of 775 senior citizens from six districts in Odisha embarked on a pilgrimage to Varanasi and Ayodhya on Wednesday. This journey marks the sixth phase of the state government's Mukhyamantri Baristha Nagarik Tirtha Yatra Yojana for the 2026-27 period. Law, works and excise minister Prithviraj Harichandan flagged off a special train from Bhubaneswar, accompanied by twenty-five officials to assist the pilgrims. The group, including significant numbers from Cuttack, Khordha, and Puri, is expected to return.

ओडिशा के छह जिलों से कुल 775 वरिष्ठ नागरिकों ने बुधवार को वाराणसी और अयोध्या की तीर्थयात्रा शुरू की। यह यात्रा 2026-27 अवधि के लिए राज्य सरकार की मुख्यमंत्री वरिष्ठ नागरिक तीर्थ यात्रा योजना का छठा चरण है। कानून, निर्माण और उत्पाद शुल्क मंत्री पृथ्वीराज हरिचंदन ने भुवनेश्वर से एक विशेष ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाकर रवाना किया, जिसमें तीर्थयात्रियों की सहायता के लिए पच्चीस अधिकारी भी साथ थे। कटक, खुर्दा और पुरी से बड़ी संख्या में लोगों सहित इस समूह के लौटने की उम्मीद है।
