After a 15-year delay, the EOW has filed a massive 20,000-page chargesheet in a school furniture procurement case from undivided Surguja. The chargesheet names 10 individuals, including a retired district project coordinator and nine supplier operators. The EOW alleges that Rs 2.68 crore was released to suppliers before physical verification of furniture, leading to a loss of Rs 67.48 lakh to the state exchequer. The agency has invoked sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act, with two individuals already arrested.
