Hyderabad-based Laurus Labs has signed an agreement to acquire a 60% stake in Canadian biotechnology company Galenvs Sciences for a pre-money valuation of $3.5 million. The transaction, subject to due diligence, involves an investment of $3.75 million to enhance Laurus Labs' capabilities in oligonucleotide development and manufacturing. This strategic move aims to expand its contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) offerings by integrating Galenvs' expertise in precision magnetic nanoparticles and DNA/RNA technologies. The acquisition is expected to strengthen Laurus Labs' position in offering differentiated solutions for advanced diagnostics and therapeutics.
